What is Rugby sevens?

Rugby sevens developed in Scotland in 1883. Sevens is a stripped-down version of rugby, with seven players on each side rather than fifteen. Games are much shorter, seven or ten minutes each half, and retain all the energy of the full game, but because of their shorthened length tend to be very fast-paced. Both rugby league and rugby union have sevens versions.
